Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day for 2012

All Illinois gun owners are invited to join in Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day (IGOLD) in Springfield in 2012.  This is an annual event where everyone goes to lobby` their representatives in the Illinois House and Senate. The ISRA is partnering with local and internet organizations in Illinois to increase attendance and make a bigger & better impression in Springfield.  The other participating organizations are IllinoisCarry.com, Guns Save Life,  Sangamon County Rifle Association, and the McHenry County Right To Carry Association. Get your local organization involved as well!

IGOLD special guest:

Dr. Suzanna Hupp

Dr Hupp is a former Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives and a recognized public advocate for the Second Amendment and an individual’s right to carry a concealed weapon.

On Wednesday, October 16, 1991, Suzanna and her parents were having lunch at Luby’s Cafeteria in Killeen, when a man drove his truck into the restaurant and opened fire on the patrons. Suzanna instinctively reached into her purse for her handgun, but realized it was in her vehicle, as a new law was passed in Texas banning the carry of a concealed weapon. Suzanna escaped out of a broken window, but 23 unarmed others, including Suzanna’s mother and father, were killed at the hands of the gunman.

We will meet at the Prairie Capital Convention Center - Doors open at 10:45 with the program set to begin at 11:30 am. We will have a legislative briefing, then we will all march to the Capitol Building to locate and talk with our representatives.

Begins Wednesday, March 7, 2012, 11:30am
Starting Location:

We will meet at Pine Tree Pistol Club at 7:30am and leave at 8am. Ample parking available on our lot.

The cost will be $25, we will NOT stop for lunch on the way in. Please bring your lunch in with you.

Payments can be made by dropping a check in the box to the left of the sign-in at the Pine Tree Pistol Club. This box will be labeled IGOLD trip.

10:45:00 am - Prairie Capital Convention Center - Doors open - View Map
                                      Located at the corner of 8th St & Adams.

12:00 pm - Prairie Capital Convention Center - Legislative Briefing

  1:00 pm - Head out to lobby Senators and Representatives at the State Capitol.
                                      respectfully make our presence known in committee hearings that are in session

 4:00 pm - Return to Prairie Capital Convention Center for wrap-up session
 5:00 pm - Bus riders board for home
